The retreat in Småland

You / your group have full access to the house, homestead, land and lakefront in the company of your teacher. The retreat is situated in a peaceful rural setting outside Växjö in southern Sweden. You can drive there or choose to book transportation, available as an extra. Boarding is open to individuals or groups of max 8 people (Please contact us for current information, as this number may be subject to change due to Covid-19 restrictions). There is ample flexibility in number of days, lessons and activities during your stay. Payment takes place at booking. Cancellation later than one week before the agreed arrival day is charged at half price of the agreed package.

About the Food

Choose between

• Package price with food included

• “Shop and cook your food as a language exercise” at cost.
  We buy local ingredients and cook our food together in the modern kitchen, or bbq by the lake.
  You pick what you like. We will be happy to offer tips on local specialties.

  Pasta, coffee, tea, crackers, sugar, salt and rolled oats will always be stocked  at the house.

About the House

Built in the 1850s, renovated with care for charm och comfort

• Beautiful location within walking distance of the forest, fields and lake with private dock.
  
• 4 rooms with double beds. Optional extra bed/crib in all rooms. The house has 8 rooms and a guest house.
  
• Modern kitchen, well stocked with practical utensils, oven, dishwasher, fridge and freezer.
  
• 3 rest rooms, 2 are bathrooms with shower.
  
• TV and wifi.
  
• Wheelchair access on the ground floor with kitchen and bathroom. Here, you will also find 2 of the bedrooms and living room with TV, stereo and fireplace.
  
• Comfortable ecological central heating year round. For that extra cozy atmosphere, there is also logwood ready for the fireplace.
  
• Smoking is only allowed outdoors, and all safety regulations must be observed.
  
• Neighborhood watch for the safety of all.
  
• Approximately 20 km from hospital, centralstation, airport and shopping center. The teacher has a car standing by and is always prepared to drive.

Weekend package - 3 days, 2 nights

Why not treat yourself to a long weekend?

Here, you can choose between intensive courses and conversation at the level of your choice, in a great setting.

Included:

• Lessons and conversation - 10 hours. €290/person
• Housing - Room for up to 8 persons. €350
• Food package - Choose your food or why not the "Småland menu" according to season. €70/person

Package price: €350 total for housing + €360/person lessons and meals

Company package - 5 days, 4 nights

Here, you can choose between intensive courses and conversation at the level of your choice, in a great setting.

Included:

• Lessons and conversation - 20 hours. €560/person
• Housing - Room for up to 8 persons. €680
• Food package - Choose your food, or why not the "Småland menu" according to season. €140 SEK/person

Package price: €680 total for housing + €700/person for lessons and meals

Vacation package - 7 days, 6 nights

Here, you can choose between intensive courses and conversation at the level of your choice, in a great setting.

Included:

• Lessons and conversation - 30 hours €810/person
• Housing - Room for up to 8 persons. €960
• Food package - Choose your food, or why not the "Småland menu" according to season. €190/person

Package price: €960 total for housing + €1000/person for lessons and meals

The Retreat

Housing is €180/night. This cost can be divided among groups of max 8 persons. 

Food

How about having your food cooked and served to you? There are great possibilities for variation after taste at your request. Perhaps you would like to taste Småland staple fare, with local specialties according to season or international favorites? All is possible!

Included in the food-package deal: 

• Breakfast - Sandwiches, yoghurt, buttermilk and seasonal specialties
• 11 o' clock coffee
• Lunch - Entrée, bread, coffee or tea and cookies
• Fika
• 3-course dinner
  

Prices vary depending on your requests but an estimate is around €30/person and day

Alternatively, the food can be bought locally and cooked by you, at cost.

Lessons

Organised lessons and conversation at the retreat.

Minimum 3 hours/day @ €30/hour and person.

Transport

Transport from the Gothenburg area can be arranged at a fee. Pick-up in Växjo or Alvesta with transport to and from the retreat is also available, at a fee.
